Abstract:
Polizei & Wissenschaft, S. 57-63
The question about extrinsic and intrinsic work goals which soldiers involve in their career decision is becoming increasingly important. The present study was conducted in order to examine the effects of work goals on the camaraderie (quality of social interactions) as well as on the quality of conditions of socialization in human development. Additionally, a gender- and education-sensitive approach was taken. The results are in line with the presumed relationships. Gender- specific analyses demonstrate no significant differences whereas the level of education shows a significant interaction in one relationship. The connections should be investigated more detailed in further research. The results yield implications for the German army’s vocational assessment, as well as the clinical and educational praxis.
