Title:
Stereotype-incompatible Assassins: Problems with Defending Attacks by unexpected suicide bombers
Abstract:
Offender profiles of Islamistic suicide bombers result from findings about recent terrorist attacks which lead to “stereotypes”. Nevertheless, those stereotypes may become a problem when terror organisations, e.g., the so called “Islamic State”, start to recruit other types of offenders like women and children who do not fit the stereotype (stereotype-incompatible offenders). Unexpected assassins might be detected either not at all or too late, and for anti-terror forces it may be difficult to fight them.
