Interdependences Between Police Error Culture and Police Science and Research

Errors of the police are often subject of public reporting. The police are accused by the public, as well as by police science, of having a deficient error culture, that conceals errors and ascribes them to individual #black sheep# within the organisation instead of working them up self-critically and constructively. So far, however, there has been no systematic empirical study of the police error culture by police science and police research. A deficient error culture could be one of the causes of the crisis in police science and research and research in this field could help to overcome this crisi
