Title:
Growing complexity and new challenges as tasks of police education. Results of an Explorative Study in Lower Saxony and NRW
Abstract:
This article examines the conditions under which knowledge transfer is practiced at police academies, and the difficulties associated with knowledge transfer. Based on empirical findings from a research project on knowledge transfer, the article uses the perspective of involved actors to show that tacit knowledge plays a significant role in knowledge transfer. The findings also show that factors such as increased environmental complexity, changed priorities in police education, and technological changes all play a particular role in making knowledge transfer in the police more complex and challenging.
