Title:
Training for advanced interrogators

Abstract:
The article describes the organization of a three-day seminar with policemen and policewomen, for whom interrogation/ investigative interviewing is the main focus of their work. Based on the experiences of the participants with witnesses and defendants who are experienced as ‘difficult’, helpful approaches to them are developed and tested in role-playing exercises. The focus is on consciously building up the relationship in order to successfully conduct the investigative interview. In order for this to succeed, reflection on one’s own attitudes towards success in interrogations, feedback in the group as well as psychological knowledge about personality and personality disorders are important components of the seminar.
