Abstract:
This case study examines the tension between the actual and perceived crime situation as reflected in online media coverage. Using text and interaction analysis methods from the field of computational crimin(ologic)al sciences, it identifies key factors that contribute to a lasting sense of insecurity and shape society’s perception of crime.
